Abstract
The aim of the present study was undertaken to the antibacterial activity of some selected medicinal plants of Calophyllum austroindicum friuts; Litsea mysorensis fruits; Clerodendrum viscosum leaves; Beilschmiedia wightii fruits and Goniothalamus wightii extracted for petroleum ether and their potential of antibacterial activity against human bacterial pathogens. The activity of selected plant extracts was evaluated against six bacterial pathogens, including Bacillus subtilis, Escherichia coli, Proteus vulgaris, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus and Salmonella typhi, using the agar well diffusion method. The results of the selected medicinal plant extracts were observed that good antibacterial activity against human pathogens.
